Dyatlov Pass 2025

Teodora Hadjiyska

Yes, Dyatlov Pass is calling my name again. I begin this campaign on the 66th anniversary of the last funerals of the remaining members of the Dyatlov group. Sadly, they took the secrets of their deaths into the grave. Interestingly, I was pulled into this sleuthing after my own near-death experience.

Ultimately, I visited the Dyatlov Pass for the first time for the Expedition Unknown show. I've been going to the Urals ever since because I feel like something is tugging at my heart and will keep doing so until I discover the truth buried out there, literally, in the ground. Siberia is a very special place where fallen trees don't rot away, and in 1959, many metal objects were left behind at every camp. Some call it beginner's luck that I stumbled upon a fallen tree, which was subsequently analyzed and proven to have fallen at the time of the incident, right next to the first bodies found. Later, I recovered a tin can that was manufactured in 1958. It could only have come from the Dyatlov group, buried 28 cm deep in the ground under the bodies. These types of objects sound only with a professional class metal detector, and this is the reason why other researchers haven't found them yet. Or perhaps they are too busy erecting monuments and flying out tourist groups. I want to unearth what haunting secrets the Dyatlov Pass holds from us before it is all trampled and disturbed.

This campaign is all about secrets. I want to remind you that we are unsure of the exact Dyatlov group route before they went over the pass. We do not even know where Dyatlov wrote the last entry in their diary. The labaz is a controversial topic, both its location and who left it there. The easiest route to go over the pass is earlier, not the path that groups now follow. We intend to go on a completely different route and set camp in a place only known to researchers. The secrecy is to avoid contamination of any evidence. My gift for contributing this year is also a secret because if it becomes a trend like the tangerines, there will be a problem. Every donation of $20 and up will receive a password (please be patient as I will do this manually) to access a page with a description of what the top contributors get. There will also be a story, one that I don't want to make public for the same reason: contamination of evidence.

Please join me by contributing to this ongoing quest to unravel the layers of mystery surrounding this most fascinating and haunting cold case!
